Proserva

(PRI #2 - Registered Apprenticeship Programs)

Proserva is Minnesota-based social business offering a dynamic professional learning platform that supports teachers at every stage of their growth and development…from initial preparation, to re-licensure, to mastery.

Venn’s new PRI to Proserva will help the company develop and implement a number of first-of-its-kind Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAP) in Minnesota. RAPs are high-quality, industry-driven career pathways that are vetted, approved, and registered by the US Department of Labor (DOL). While RAPs have existed for other careers since 1937, in November 2021, the DOL took the exciting step and approved the “K-12 Teacher” occupation as eligible for RAPs.

Proserva’s RAPs will focus on providing a pathway for individuals to obtain both a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching license while working in a school. By reducing the high cost of tuition as well as providing a paid alternative to traditional unpaid student teaching requirements, the RAPs aim to provide greater access to persons under-represented in the teaching profession, bring more teachers of color to schools with higher percentages of students of color, and bring more teachers to rural schools.
